Peach Wood Sword: A Taoist Talisman for Protection and Harmony
Share
The Peach Wood Sword is considered a Taoist implement believed to possess powers in safeguarding homes, inviting blessings, warding off evil, and attracting wealth in Chinese tradition. Traditionally crafted from natural peach wood, it is intricately hand-carved (although modern production often uses machine-carving due to cost-effectiveness). Peach wood, known as the essence of the five woods and also referred to as 'Immortal Wood,' is believed to have protective properties, hence the Peach Wood Sword inherits these abilities.
Instructions for using the Peach Wood Sword:
- Hang it on the door (preferably in the middle or above the entrance).
- Place it on the wall where the door faces after opening.
- Install it on the east wall of the living room, at a height similar to an ordinary clock in the house.
- To dispel nightmares or improve restless sleep, hang the Peach Wood Sword in the bedroom or place it under the bed.
- For preventing intruders, preventing romantic entanglements, maintaining family harmony, or resolving conflicts caused by gossip, hang it near windows.
The efficacy of the Peach Wood Sword is further enhanced if inscribed with Taoist incantations using cinnabar.
